To say the least, it’s been an interesting couple of months. We are navigating in unchartered territories, and it is yielding quite a different world. The good part is that the world is going through this together and not against each other. And it’s up to us to learn from it. Here is another lesson that I’ve learned.
I am in control of my time
I’ve always thought that I would accomplish a lot during the day if I did not have to do business travel or head into the office. The opportunity presented itself with the pandemic, and yes, I was catching up on the work I needed to complete, the house projects that I put on my to do list, the recipes I wanted to try, and the planning for the future. I was on a solid roll for 3 weeks, and THEN I was in a lull. I was working, but not efficiently. I wasn’t thinking of new things to accomplish. I wasn’t even exercising regularly. During those few days, my energy wasn’t as positive nor was my sense of fulfillment enriched.
Since then, I have been developing a plan for the next couple of days. It’s not set in stone, but at least I have items that I would like to take care of, and I have allocated time to focus on them. At the end of the day, I review the list and informally rate my motivation and performance. Then I set up the next plan. I believe this does two-fold. It gives me something to look forward to, and it has given me a needed sense of motivation & accomplishment.
I have been using the App “To Do” which syncs between my iPhone, MacBook Pro, and iPad Pro. You can create tasks, lists, and set the priorities.
I hope you continue to be productive during our stay at home time, and that your attitude remains positive since we have been given more time to focus on our passions. Cheers!
